Hide a Folder With CMD

Hi, Today in this blog we will talk about hiding folders or files in cmd (command prompt). While hiding files normally we do not feel safe as even a first time worker in computer also knows how to show hidden files. So, it's safe to hide personal files , restricted content girlfriend's photo or files you don't want others to see to hide with cmd.

Step 1- open cmd.
You can press Win + R to open Run and then type in it. (I don't think Win+R will work in Windows XP .)

Step 2- Run it as administrator.

Step 3- Type the following commands :
attrib s h " location of file or folder "
For ex- attrib s h "d/dfw/private" .
Open the folder you will not see your files.

To show the files type the following commands -
attrib -s -h " location of file or folder "
For ex - attrib -s -h "d/dfw/private".
Open the folder you will see your files back.

Thats  it enjoy.
Advantages - Secures your files. As only you know the location and only you can show.

Disadvantages: The files open if they are listed in history recent files etc. So you have to remove them from there.

Keep following us for updates.
