Removing Shortcut Virus From Memory Stick With CMD (Comman Prompt)

What is shortcut virus?

I am thinking most of you might be familiar with this virus.This type of virus infects your removal devices (pendrive,external hard disk,etc) and creates a shortcut in your pendrive or external hard disk.This virus moves all the data (contents of your pendrive) to shortcut created.This is generally a VBS Script which has no harmful effect to your PC or its performance but it may irritating.

Steps to follow

• Go to start, in search box type CMD. 

• In the search result right click on CMD and select 'Run as Administrator' 

• Plug in your infected memory stick (pendrive) in your usb port.

•  Run the following command in CMD   

ATTRIB -H -S -R /S /D E:\*.*

•  Replace E with your memory stick (pendrive) drive letter and press enter key. 

• Without opening your memory stick (pendrive) format it. 

• Eject your memory stick (pendrive) and re-insert it.
